Chairman of the Board
Mr. Klein received his J.D., Magna Cum Laude, from Boston University Law School and a Master’s Degree in tax law from New York University Law School. He received his Bachelor of Science in business from the State University of New York in Albany. Mr. Klein is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Apple Core Holdings, which owns and operates hotels and event spaces, and provides seed capital to hedge funds, venture capital funds, and private equity funds. Previously, Mr. Klein was an attorney at Skadden Arps, and Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
Executive Director, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Tolia attended the University of Michigan where he obtained a BA in economics and BSE in Industrial and Operations Engineering. Prior to his role with the Corporation, Mr. Tolia was the managing member of Bengal Capital Trading LLC, a derivatives trading firm with a focus on listed equity options, and previously held roles with investment banking firms Peter J. Solomon Company and hedge fund Midtown Capital.
Founder and Managing Partner
Mr. Flow is globally recognized for his cannabis thought leadership and expertise in building and operating cannabis cultivation facilities. Mr. Flow was a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at MedReleaf from January 2013-April 2015. Mr. Flow sits on the board and advisory committees of several cannabis-related companies.
Prior to joining Flowr, Mr. Emanuel co-founded QuarterSpot, Inc., an online lending platform. As President and COO, Mr. Emanuel built the company into an industry leader by overseeing the issuance of 8,500 loans and $670 million in financing in 6 years. He also led LASO, Inc., the company’s intellectual property arm and formed a distribution partnership with one of the top 3 credit bureaus in the U.S. Previously, Mr. Emanuel served as General Counsel and COO at GotCoders, Inc, a software development consultancy. Mr. Emanuel holds a BBA, with distinction, from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and received his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.
Chief Financial Officer
Alex is a bilingual CPA, CA with over 25 years of experience leading financial operations and strategic planning for multinational public companies, primarily in the mining and manufacturing sectors. Alex was most recently CFO of Era Resources Inc., prior to its acquisition by The Sentient Group. He has held senior positions including CFO of Avion Gold Corporation prior to its acquisition by Endeavour Mining Ltd., CFO of Goldbelt Resources Ltd. prior to its acquisition by Wega Mining ASA and Group Controller of Litens Automotive Partnership, a division within Magna International Inc.
Dr. Lyle Oberg
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CHIEF POLICY & MEDICAL OFFICER
Dr. Oberg received his MD degree from the University of Alberta in 1983. Dr. Oberg was a member of the Alberta Legislature from 1993 to 2008, and was the former Alberta Minister of Finance. Dr. Oberg was also formerly a medical doctor practising in Alberta.
General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Francesco Tallarico is Flowr’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, overseeing all aspects of Flowr’s legal needs, and providing leadership of Flowr’s M&A and corporate finance strategy. Prior to joining Flowr, Mr. Tallarico served as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Concordia International Corp. (now Advanz Pharma Corp.), a specialty pharmaceutical company listed on the TSX. At Concordia, Mr. Tallarico led Concordia’s global legal and compliance functions, M&A transactions valued at over USD$4.5 billion and USD$2.4 billion corporate debt restructuring. Before joining Concordia, Mr. Tallarico practiced law in the corporate and securities group of Fasken in Toronto. Mr. Tallarico holds a BA from the University of Toronto and a JD from the University of Windsor.
Chief Research and Innovation Officer
Jason has 15 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with roles in: sales, marketing, business, unit management, government affairs and global advisory boards. Jason has established, operated and sold several healthcare-related companies. With a master’s degree in Molecular Genetics, Jason’s expertise spans all aspects of development. From molecule to market, Jason has led the commercialization of several key pharmaceutical brands.
EVP, Head of Strategy
Laurence previously founded VO2 Partners, a retail and consumer focused private equity firm backed by the founders of Lands’ End. He previously was the co-founder and managing director of boutique investment banking firm Levi Littell Herbst & Co., which executed strategy and M&A engagements including the sale of Patterson Capital Markets to Goldman Sachs, and the sale of ActiveCare to Medco Health. Laurence previously was the head of strategy for both Transora, the technology consortium started by global CPG firms including The Coca-Cola Company, Procter & Gamble and Kraft Foods; and for the Kleiner Perkins-backed ecommerce firm EthnicGrocer. He began his career as a transactional attorney at Latham & Watkins.
Craig’s industry-leading experience in the design and construction of care facilities, hospitals, water treatment plants and sewage treatment facilities, is the reason he is constantly sought out for the design, construction and inspection of MMPR facilities.
VP Business Development
Steve has over 20 years of hands-on experience in marketing, business development and loyalty programs. He has managed complex projects, involving: leading customer service tactics, building online stores, and managing customer / patient adoption strategies. As a former OLG Director, Steve built and ran Winner’s Circle Rewards program, Canada’s largest casino loyalty program. Most recently, Steve led the patient adoption onboarding and loyalty for Tilray.
VP Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance
Erin has a BSc in Pharmacy, a diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology – Pharmaceutical and a graduate certificate in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations. With significant industry and category experience, she is a leader in pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Compliance. She was part of the founding team at Emblem Cannabis and led all their regulatory, licensing, quality and SOP efforts and helped establish their Patient Services function.
Director of Partner Development & Education
Alex joined MedReleaf in 2014 which was the beginning of his career in the medical cannabis industry. Alex was present at the outset of the Canadian Medical Cannabis Industry Association (CMCIA) and during his subsequent tenure he served as committee chair and held the position of interim Executive Director. He has spoken to thousands of patients with various conditions and ailments such as PTSD and chronic pain. Alex has worked with Veterans Affairs Canada on the coverage of cannabis and is a proponent of methods of ingestion other then smoking. After leaving MedReleaf he focused on cannabis education by creating a program called “Cannabis IQ” alongside MD Briefcase and a faculty of 5 Health Care Professionals.
Alexander E. Repetski
Director of Communications
Alexander’s deep experience in cannabis treatments and the science around its impacts on the human body stem from a very personal connection through his daughter, Gwenevere. In 2012 she was diagnosed with intractable epilepsy and after repeated failures of traditional therapies, she found successful treatment options through specialized cannabis formulations. It took a lot of research and trial and error for Alexander to find the right cannabis treatment for his daughter and as a result has become recognized for his contributions in this space. He regularly finds himself with speaking engagements and participating in studies with numerous universities, doctors and news outlets across North America. He enjoys hugs from his children and new ideas.
